What Happened

The Cleanest Cards

Two identical 78s

Disgusting Brothers and Jew + Nose tied at 78 with the identical line: 12 pars, 6 bogeys, no doubles, no birdies. Same total, two different shapes. Brothers went 36 out and 42 in. Nose split it 39 and 39. Nobody made a mistake. Nobody made anything happen either.

Boom or Bust

Won it on the front

Two Boners played the front in 33. Three birdies to open, six on the day, an eagle on 17. Then they doubled 6 and 18 and played the back in +4. Led by three at the turn, won by three. The whole tournament happened on the front nine.

The Back-Nine Surge

Low back nine of the day

Everyone else fell apart after the turn. Make a Wish shot 37on the back, low of the day, opening with 3s on 10 and 11. Too late to win. Good enough for second.

Truth in Advertising

The name checks out

Team 3-Putt shot 48 on the back. A 7 on 14, three doubles, a lot of time on the greens. They never made worse than a triple and they finished all 18. The name was accurate.

The back nine

Front +9, back +30

As a field, the front nine played to +9 and the back nine to +30. Only Make a Wish shot a lower back nine than front. Everyone else faded or matched.

Notes

Two eagles, both on par 5s. Milkmen made 3 on the 9th, Two Boners made 3 on the 17th. Those were the only two holes all day the field broke par.

Holes 12 and 16 were the worst on the card. Both par 4s, both played to +1.17 across the field. Nobody beat par on either one.

The par 4s did the damage. Field averaged +0.57 on the par 4s and +0.33 on the par 3s. The par 5s were the only holes anyone beat as a group, at -0.13.

Two Boners made 7 of the field's 12 birdies or better. The other five teams managed 5 between them.

Every blow-up came from first or last. The only double bogeys and the only triple belonged to Two Boners (2) or Team 3-Putt (4). The middle four never made worse than a bogey.
